OFFICIAL RULES

The "Trip to Finland" sweepstakes (the "Sweepstakes") is intended for play in the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia only. Do not enter this sweepstakes if you are not a resident of, and located in, the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia.
  1. ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older. If a prize is won by a person who has not reached the age of majority within his/her state of residence, the prize will be awarded in the minor's name to his/her parent or legal guardian who must sign and return all required documents. Employees of the Embassy of Finland, its affiliates, advertising and promotional agencies, and the immediate family members of each are not eligible to enter or win. Void outside of the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia and where prohibited by law.


  2. PRIZE: First Prize: One (1) winner will receive a vacation package for the winner and a guest that includes roundtrip coach airfare from New York, New York, to Helsinki, Finland, and 5 days/4 nights accommodations double occupancy at a 4-star hotel in Helsinki. Value approximately $2500. Actual value of the prize may change due to fluctuations in airline price schedules. The winner and guest must travel by December 10, 2005. Second Prize: One (1) winner will receive a vacation package for the winner and a guest that includes roundtrip coach airfare to Washington, DC, from anywhere in the United States, 2 days/one night accommodations double occupancy at a 4-star hotel in Washington, DC, and a special dinner with the Ambassador from Finland. Value approximately $1300. Actual value of the prize may change due to fluctuations in airline price schedules. The winner and guest must travel by December 10, 2005. Third Prize: Five (5) winners will each receive 2 educational books on Finland. Value approximately $50. Prizes are nonrefundable for cash. The winners are responsible for their own tax consequences and for compliance with all related governmental reporting and payment requirements. Expenses and incidentals not specifically stated, including, but not limited to, taxes, transportation to and from the airport, meals, beverages and tips are the sole responsibility of the winners. The Embassy of Finland reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value or cash in the event that a described prize is unavailable for any reason. No substitution of a prize or cash equivalent is permitted except by the Embassy of Finland. If a prize is unclaimed, it will not be awarded. Return of any prize notification as undeliverable may result in the disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. The prizes are nontransferable and nonassignable by the winner.


  3. HOW TO ENTER: To enter, submit your first and last name, address, telephone number and email address on the entry form provided at www.projectfinland.com/educator/. Limit one (1) entry per person. Multiple entries received from any person will be disqualified. No third party entry or entry through a sweepstakes service permitted. No responsibility is assumed by the Embassy of Finland for lost, late, or misdirected entries or for any computer, online, or other technical malfunctions that may occur. Entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as a natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. All entries become the property of the Embassy of Finland.


  4. ENTRY PERIOD: Entries will be accepted beginning February 1, 2004. All entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on December 9, 2004.


  5. SELECTION OF WINNERS: The Sweepstakes will have one (1) winner for the first prize, one (1) winner for the second prize and five (5) winners for the third prize. The winners will be selected from among all eligible entries in a random drawing to be held on or about December 10, 2004 at the Embassy of Finland, 3301 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20008. The drawing will be conducted by an independent judging organization whose decisions and interpretations on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes and these Official Rules are final and binding in all respects. The winner will be notified via United States mail, and/or overnight courier and/or telephone and/or email. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.


  6. GENERAL CONDITIONS: Sweepstakes entrants agree to abide by the terms of these Official Rules and by the decisions of the Embassy of Finland which are final on all matters pertaining to the Sweepstakes. The winners will be notified within seven (7) days after the drawing date. Each winner will be required to execute and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release and (to the extent allowed by law) Publicity Release within fourteen (14) days of issuance of notification. Non-compliance with any of the forgoing may result in forfeiture of a prize and awarding of the prize to an alternate winner. The guests accompanying the first prize and second prize winners must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. Each guest will be required to sign and return a liability/publicity release at least twenty-one (21) days prior to travel. If a winner has not reached the age of majority within his/her state of residence, his/her parent or legal guardian must sign the documents and travel with minor on trip as the guest. By accepting a prize, a winner agrees that the Embassy of Finland and its advertising and promotional agencies may use the winner's name, city and state of residence, photograph and/or likeness for advertising and/or trade purposes and/or for the purpose of displaying his/her name as a winner, without further compensation, permission or notification (unless prohibited by law).


  7. REQUEST FOR OFFICIAL RULES: To request a copy of the Official Rules by mail, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope by first class, prepaid United States mail to: Embassy of Finland, 3301 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20008, no later than December 9, 2004.


  8. WINNERS' LIST: For the winners' names, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope by first class, prepaid United States mail to: Embassy of Finland, 3301 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20008, no later than December 9, 2004.


  9. SPONSOR: The Embassy of Finland, 3301 Massachusetts Avenue NW, Washington, DC, 20008 is the sole sponsor of this Sweepstakes and is responsible for the fulfillment of the prize.
